Dear Parents,

Vidya Valley is participating in the Under-14 PDCA cricket tournament. Each game is supposed to last two days. The first match is on 6th & 7th Feb and the second on 18th & 19th Feb. Performance in these group-matches will decide their progress to the semi-final stage.

Children have to get to the Old School (Pashan-Sus Road) by 8:00 a.m. after a proper breakfast. They can come either by regular school bus or you can drop them with their kits. We have arranged a bus to take them to Kataria High School for the match. Children must carry a snack, lunch-box and water bottle.

Return: A bus will bring them back in the evening (starting 4:30 pm),via Univ. Gate, Abhiman Shree, Pashan Circle, Old School, Baner Road to Aundh (Shireen Garden).

It will be very good if you can arrange to pick up your child (and possibly a few other children) on this route so that they reach home as early as possible and rest before the next day's game. For example, if Baner Road and Aundh parents can pick up at Abhiman Shree it will save nearly an hour of commuting.

Our team is very young for the U-14. We see it as an opportunity to gain experience and be better prepared for the next year. We also see that these enthusiasts need our help and support to get their fitness, stamina and speed up to the mark. I hope this tournament be the required motivator to help achieve these fitness goals. I will arrange a meeting with all of you parents whose children are specially interested in cricket so that we can draw up a proper plan.

I hope some of you can make time to go and cheer the team. Our children will be playing a two-day match for the first time and your support will be invaluable. I am visualising the spirit and mood that I saw on Sports Day!!

And finally, what could be better than if a parent volunteers to provide an appropriate lunch for the team. Do let me know early if someone is volunteering so I can inform the children accordingly.
